Having a breast augmentation does not affect your ability to breast feed.
Does having breast implants affect screening?
Having breast implants will not necessarily impact on your ability to assess yourself, however, if you are to have a mammogram in due course there is some reduction in the mammogram sensitivity. As a result mammography centres are aware of the implant limitations and will work around this.
Other investigations such as ultrasound or MRI scans may supplement screening the breast or implant if deemed to be clinically necessary. If you have any questions regarding this, please discuss with your surgeon.
